Food and Drink

I hereby formally invite you to join myself and Vanessa for afternoon tea on Sunday the 26th of February. Unfortunately one's budget doesn't quite surfice for an afternoon at the Ritz so on this occasion one shall be have a spiffing time instead from 2 o'clock at the Grand Cafe in Southampton. For your enjoyment we shall be served sandwiches, scones, fruit, and a choice of tea's for the sum of £12.50 per person. If one wishes to include something a little stronger with your afternoon tea for the sum of £19 per person you may find a glass of Deutz champagne a more enjoyable proposition. Please let myself know by 18th February 2012 if you wish to grace us with your presence so that I may call ahead and let them know we are attending.

 I had a request for Ennios and it looks like fabulous food.  It has been voted the best Italian restaurant in Hampshire (and I know that Italians love it too) so I think we should go and check it out.  Someone remind me that I have a Delicious Dining Card when we are there, so we should be able to get a little bit of a discount.

Mmm, Mamma Mia, my mouth is watering already.

Kirsty and I will be heading to Leisureworld for lunch at  Frankie & Benny's (meet 13.45pm) and then watching the new Sherlock Holmes film at 15.20pm if anyone would like to join us?  Please let me know you are coming so we can look out for you!

First Thursday of the Year's Food for Thought seems to have fallen into the tradition of being a proper curry night.

So what better way to start the year than with that good old British tradition of a curry and a pint.  We had a lovely visit to Jehangir last year; there is a  TV screen from the restaurant into the kitchen and you can watch the chefs preparing your food before you eat it.  

I have been asked for a repeat visit, so that is where the first food outing of 2012 will see us going.

Fancy a lazy Sunday pub lunch? If you do, why not join me at the Jolly Sailor (which is situated over looking the river Hamble) at 12pm for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. For those of you wanting to enjoy a pint or two the pub is located within a couple of minutes walk from Bursledon train station.
