More Marvellous Mo'Roller Monday

Event Date & Time:
25/01/2010 - 19:30 - 22:30

Monday night roller skating at Mo' Roller is becoming a firm favourite in our calendar. Every week there is a beginner's session covering the basics such as how to get up (as gracefully as a swan) after falling over 'a over t', how to stop (Kirstie take note!) and how to turn (which comes in handy). Then there is an 'improvers' session, although anyone is welcome to have a go, where you try can try your hand (or is it feet?) at crossover turns, traversing, parallel turns, skating backwards, backward flips etc...(ok, the backward flips I made up). It is not a course so you can dip in and out of it without worrying about missing anything or getting behind. All beginners techniques are refreshed every week and improvers techniques are repeated every few weeks.

The friendly skate marshal team are at hand to give one to one assistance if you have any pesky troubles with any particular moves or if you want to learn something a bit more radical. You can bring your own quads or inlines or hire quads at the venue. Protection is free to use if you feel the need (Hannah!)

There is a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks so you can refrsh yourself before, during and after if you feel the need. Doors open at 7.30pm with the first 30 minutes giving us a chance to get our skates on, meet up and warm up. Then there's a beginners session from about 8pm to 8:30pm with improvers from 8:30 to 9pm. At 9pm the wheels of steel are unleashed and you can practice your moves to some classic disco tunes or just try to skate around as fast as you can (Kirstie, again!).

It's a great night for us to skate, socialise and keep fit. At £5 admission plus £2 skate hire it's easy on your pocket too! Give it a go!
