Terrific Tuesday 13th of July 2010
Aloha Sweet Peas & Potatoes! Yes, today is Terrific Tuesday, just to get you in the mood for next week when Original Mike will take over this blog as yours truly is on the other side of the water. Last week we saw Holland beat Uruguay (review here) and Holland lose from Spain in the World Cup Final.. There is no real review of the latter, as it was painful to watch (and to play!). How many yellow cards were there?? Thank you all so much for your support - I'm off to Belgium to lick my wounds in the arms of the rest of my family.
We kind of skipped the Quiz at the London, had a great committee meeting and club night at Trago (Ali appeared and renewed her membership and Dawn, Gary and Milly signed up too!!!), had a lovely evening in Chichester during the Real Ale and Jazz Festival (thank you Helen M for staying over), we played footie on The Common (SteveSki, how much money did you raise?), danced the night away at The Brook and I've seen some awesome pictures of the British Pedal Car Grand Prix!
So, this week - tomorrow (Wednesday) Hannah is taking us to the Odeon at LeisureWorld for the 3D experience of Shrek Forever After. Meet at the entrance at 7pm for the 7.45pm showing. If all goes to plan that will give us a bit of time for a quick drink and a chat. Any 'spare' orange codes can be send to Hannah, so we can all get in for less.
This weekend Paul is going to the Larmer Tree Festival - it looks like a fantastic event! Contact him if you want to camp along.
Hannah would like to know if more people are wanting to come along to the Outdoor Cinema on Sunday the 25th of July at St Hillier Gardens. Vanessa would like to know who's coming along to Cowes Fireworks & Picnic on Friday the 6th of August and of course to the Psychic Supper with Ross on Friday the 30th of July.
Anyone wanting to come along to Thorpe Park on Wednesday the 8th of September - please let me know as soon as possible! Anyone wanting to come along to The Riverboat Shuffle on Saturday the 4th of September - let me know too as tickets are flying like hot potatoes!
There is lots of space on the calendar for events in August and beyond - so feel free to pick a date and organise!
Rest me to say - welcome to our newest members Ali, Dawn, Gary and Milly!! We're happy to offer membership to Mark, Mark, Rob, Paul, Becky, Becky and Scott - feel free to hassle Sophie out of a membership form next time you see her! All have a great week & see you on Wednesday!
