Terribly late Tuesday
What a week. Mysterious volcanic eruptions in far flung lands, leading to mass disruption and mythical stories of 'invisible ash' grounding those big, fat, flying machines we know and love . The mild mannered Nick Clegg triggers mass swooning and hysterical scenes of 'cleggmania' to rival the Beatles. Pinch me if i'm dreaming. All that and i'm expected to step in to the breach to write another fashionably late Terrific, but a tad late Tuesday wafflefest... who'd of Adam and Eve'd it???
Last week started early on a Sunday, with a very religious offering. Paraletic Mike delved into his sumptuous and outrageous wardrobe yet again, and outdid himself with a very 'cheeky' bare bottomed Monk ensemble at Reflex, to help 'not celebrate' his advancing years. Im sure all those Vicars and Tarts had a fabulous time..... best not to ask though, just say 10 hail Marys and pray for forgiveness.
On Tuesday, a group of us shuffled along to get our IQ's tested and came a creditable mid-table at the monthly Quiz night at the Bellemore Tavern. Thanks to Steve F, for dragging our score to a respectable level!!!
Thursday and Friday were musical extravaganzas. Tine took us to sing the blues (Well listen anyway) at the mellow and chilled out Platform Tavern. This was followed the next evening by Helen B, rocking and rolling to Queen with a side order of Meatloaf to take away, down by the seaside in Bournemouth.
This week, we are heading for a chinwag and a juicy gossip at the Duke of Wellington. Come and join us, you know you want to. There may be a committe meeting at 8pm and there may not, depending on the fitness of some of the commitee!! For all the rest, turn up at 8.30 and you'll get a warm welcome.
On Friday, it is of course a national celebration of our patron Saint Mr George. Michaela, is playing the hostess with the mostess and invites us for a good old fashioned 'Pub night In' with traditional games, grub and some jousting with fiery dragons (ok, I made that last bit up). Please let her know you are coming, so she can get an idea of numbers. You dont even have to be English..... :)
On Saturday, we intend to head down to the Soul Cellar to dance off all those dragon and Winston Churchill Burgers from the night before. Tine is taking us for the launch night of 'Screech Records'. Let her know you are coming so she can keep an eye out for you.
Finishing off on Sunday, we are down at the Brook to see the fabulous Sandi Thom in the flesh. If you too, wish you were a punk rocker, with flowers in your hair (I know I do), then come and join us and let Steve F know you are coming.
Enough for now....
The Temp
Mike
