Marvellous Monday on a Tuesday
Its a new year (well Chinese anyway), so you have a new host. That's right, you've guessed it.... Kirsty is off sunning herself in deepest, darkest Africa, so ive been called into the breach to do her donkey work...... and fashionably late at that!!!
Last Monday, we had lots of fun getting our skates on and shaking our money makers (at the same time!) and rumour has it, one or two of our crew are getting rather good. If you wanna join us give Steve J a shout as this has become a regular Monday night event.
On Tuesday, we got all political and had a very successful AGM at the Duke of Wellington pub. The minutes will be available for members to view soon, once the secretary gets his arse in gear (ie yours truely). In a nutshell, we've had a very successful first year since we all decided to NAFOF and we have grown to 38 fun and funky members. Will you be the next to join us?
Future events we discussed are:
NAFOF's first birthday party Sat 10th April (Kiddies fancy dress and karaoke)
Spanish Tomato festival
Go Ape
Timbuktoo trip
Zorbing
Butlins 80's weekend (Still space for one more male or a group of four - contact Vanessa)
IOW Garlic festival (with camping)
MAD weekend 2011
Regular monthly events to be continued:
First Thursday food fiesta
Lets get quizical
Random roving relay Sunday lunches
Orange Wednesday 2 for 1 film nights with optional face stuffing (Pizza)
On Friday, the ladies went to see some half naked men talk about antique furniture - Think they were called the Chippendales..... I may be getting a little confused here.....
Also, Tine took us to the talking heads to see Chesney Hawkes and friends give us some fab live music. Apparently he is the one and only......
On Sunday, Karen took us to the Nuffield Theatre to split our sides at Stewart Lee. Shame I missed that.
There are a couple of booking deadlines I need you to know about:
Please let 'action man' Steve J know if you wanna 'party like its 1999 - Mo'Roller style' by this Friday. He'd love you to roll along.
Please let Karen Unwin know by this Saturday, if you wanna go to see the Bob Marley Tribute at the Brook - she is the new contact for this as Helen B is out of the country at the moment. Rumour has it you can buy donuts at the bar.... 'with jammin'..... groan!
Please let Hannah know by next Monday if you wanna tag along for pizza stuffing and film watching - cheap at half the price, thanks to Orange. Film yet to be decided.
This weekend we have a free space in the calender. Fancy doing something.....? just post it and we may join you :)
Last, but not least, Ski-ing and singing Steve has a rather cold flat. He'd like us to help him warm it. The date is Saturday 13th March and the dresscode is 70's/80's. If you ask nicely we may get to join him in a spot of Karaoke!!
Enough from me..... Im off for a 'Tiger' beer to celebrate the Chinese new year and then gonna try and p p p p pickup a pancake....
