Marvellous Monday - 6th of April 2009

Good Day to All You Red Bull & Vodka Lovers!

Last week was a busy one - the Quiz at the London Hotel was a quiet, but fun affair. Especially because I was part of the winning team (which I still don't understand as I only knew two answers out of 40, but it were answers that nobody else knew - clever me ). Dining at The Tiffin Club last week was very well received by all - the only thing we would like to ask; can we have bigger portions next time?  We also enjoyed a spot of theatre at the Mayflower - we want to go again!!

And boy oh boy.. Jongleurs on Friday night... Mike was celebrating his birthday (he turned something plus VAT - we are still puzzling and are not sure if this is before or after the reduction) and we made sure he never had an empty glass.. Paper hats, guirlandes and even bubbles were part of the festivities, besides the stand-up comedians and the cheesy boogie afterwards of course. As always I had forgotten to charge my camera, but managed to snap a few pictures of the Racing Turtles.. Want to see them (members only)? Log in here and have a laugh! Unfortunately, I had to skip out earlish as work was awaiting the next morning, but someone with wings told me they ended up being broomed out of The Frog & Frigate..

Bet you want to know what is coming up this week? Well, tomorrow (Tuesday) Mike is taking us for another Quiz Night to the Waterloo Arms from 8pm. And on Friday we are tempting the weather gods by putting on the first afternoon barbecue of the year! As said before - log in and see where and exact timings for both events..

Upcoming on Sunday the 19th of April is Sunday Lunch and Graveyard Walk - you will have to let me know that you are coming along by this Friday, so I can book us a table and make sure they are expecting us at The Old Cemetery.

Vanessa is looking into another Butlins Weekend and we are thinking about the weekend of the 3rd of July. Please let us know if you want to come along, so we can sort out payment and booking. Bev is looking into a weekend at Centre Parcs; let her know if you are interested in coming along for this one too! Brenda will be looking into a girly pamper day, Ian will be organising a day & night in Salisbury, Hannah has a great idea with regards to our 3rd week of the month and Helen will be setting a date soon for a beach day with barbecue and camping!
