Marvellous Monday 3 May 10
Jambo Questarians & Other Interested Party People! It was another week to remember in NaFoF Land.. We had a great time at Guzel, the Turkish Restaurant, last week before we went to see Cemetery Junction - another British Best.. On Saturday we danced the night away at The Talking Heads and found a good home for our tickets for The Canterbury Tales (we weren't able to make it ourselves unfortunately). On Sunday we had a marvellous time at the Mo'Club for our Mo'Roller PlayDate! Daniel improved so much, he didn't want to go home, Gracie was very impressive on her new pink skates, Elissa could skate on one wheel and Oscar went faster and faster and faster. All us adults had a hard time keeping up with all them! We ended the party at MaccyD with a well deserved bit of munchies! And today we had our first BBQ & Tub Party celebrating Rich's birthday! We weren't sure if the weather would hold out with the hail we had for about 2 minutes just before the party started, but ... it did!! We had a nice splash in the pool and food to feed the 5000! It was great to see so many SHQ'ers celebrating and we only went back in the house about 20 minutes ago. Thank you all for such a nice afternoon and evening and even more thanks to all the washer-uppers!! Needless to say - we have a bit of food left - so if you don't feel like cooking; feel free to come over tomorrow (Tuesday) for a bit more bbq!
So, this week.. We're off to The London Hotel for another Quiz Night this Wednesday. Quiz starts at 8.30pm, but it would be a good idea to get there around 8pm to grab that table you like! Not too sure if I can make it myself this time, but Steve F is going - so let him know if you are coming along, so he can look out for you (hope that is okay, Steveski?!).
On Thursday Vanessa is taking us all to Rancho for a nice steak (after you have voted of course). Dinner is served at 8pm and please book your plate on or before Wednesday with Vanessa, so you will have a seat at our table too. There are lots of us going this time; a few regulars, a few people we haven't seen in a while and even a few newbies will be coming over to check us out! It already looks to be a great evening!
This weekend you could be sleeping in a Yurt! Contact Sandie if you want to come along!
And on Sunday we are planning to dance the night away at Sam's Bar in East Street. Please let me know if you want to come along. We might be meeting up there with some people from In-Sync (another fun and fabulous club in Southampton).
At the moment we are getting numbers of people who would like to come along to the Quiz Night at the Concorde Club on Tuesday the 25th of May (all for charity). Let me know if you are wanting to come along as soon as possible, so we can book you in (we need your money!).
We also need you to book your ticket for our 1st belated bday party! You know the drill: let someone on the committee know and hand over your cash! We'll organise the rest for you - you just need to turn up on Saturday the 19th of June. Feel free to invite whomever you like to come along as well!
You also might have seen the posting for the Chichester Real Ale & Jazz Festival.. We have already bought some tickets, so if you want to come along; book your ticket and let Helen M know if you want to crash at her place. We will certainly as it is bound to be a great night with Katie Melua and we don't want to leave too early to catch a train!
There is going to be some more additions to your calendar soon, as Michaela will be doing the Race of Life and you can sponsor her once she has posted her link. If you want to run along as well - have a look here.
We have also already established that we have 8 people who would like to go skiing next year, so this will be set up for all of us soon too. Hannah will be looking into the Chilly Festival once her laptop is fully recovered and the weekend at Butlins is now booked up - 12 of us booked in and if you want to come along too - find 3 others to fill an apartment
.
Well, that was it for now.. This week you might get some test messages in your inbox - feel free to ignore! Rich has updated some stuff on your amazing website again and it needs some testing.. Everyone who received a renewal email from Sophie - make sure you are paid-up by the end of this week and life will continue as amazingly as it has done before.. Rest me to say; looking forward to catch up with Brenda and Pat this Thursday, many happy returns to Rich for tomorrow (he is becoming of age - Lord of the Ring fans will know what that means) and congratulations to Karen on her new job!
Have a good one & see you all soon!
