Marvellous Monday 30th of Nov 09

Aloha Curry Lovers! You are in for a treat this week.. But first let me tell you what went on last week, before we delf in our plates for this one.. Last Monday Swimming was skipped as we felt too alcoholic, but today we are definitely going for it! On Wednesday we were dining with a large number of people at PizzaExpress and even a larger group of people went to the cinema to watch 'Men who stare at goats'. The concensus was that the film was good, but weird and we were quite relieved that Ian wasn't there to ask for explanations, as we were sure we wouldn't have them.. Thank you Hannah for organising such a lovely night out!

Mike and Laura went to meet Tine at The Platform last Thursday and had a musical night out. Thank you Tine, we are looking forward to the next one!

On Saturday we went for a game of golf (or water polo). It was great to meet Allison for the first time - we hope we haven't scared you off; we're happy to sign you up on the spot (never mind Gordon :) We met at Wahoo as Bar Risa was shut and decided to start at the next pub up. So, we did some rain ducking and went to The Red Lion for a (very) quick drink. Allison, Guy, Rich, Inviro Steve, Gordon, Benjamin, Mike T, Ian and me downed this one in one and Hannah did it in two.. Jokers were played here already. We managed to get ourselves to the Duke of Wellington and decided due to the weather to stay there a while for 2 rounds of golf. Guy got an extra point for being funny (Dutchies and their heads on beers) and after that we went to find Cargo (while we lost Rich). This was the loudest place we went to and we managed to order and drink pronto! White Star with a leisurely chat and chill was next, followed by standing up in The Grapes (Benjamin had given up by this point) and the 'last' drink at The London Hotel. As the organiser changed the rules in this last pub - we all had to down a pint.. Needless to say that Stowfort Press is very nice, but too bubbly for my nose.. Allison, Steve and Guy ended up with exactly the same number of points so we did a whip around and got each another pint for the drink-off.. Steve decided not to rush it, but Allison and Guy went for it, like they were stranded in the desert and this was their first drink in three weeks! Allison was only half a second behind, but Guy won the challenge! Congratz - not bad for a Dutchie! After this we lost Ian, went to find some garlic and kebab, lost Gordon and Allison (it was the last pint that did it - honest!), Hannah, Mike, Steve and Guy went to Dock Gate 4 for a boogie and Benjamin and I decided to walk home. When we got home, we had a plunch in the tub with Rich and when I just got to bed (Benjamin was still in the tub) the phone rang; 'Eh.. We're not done yet with tonight.. Can we jump in your tub?' So not much later, Guy, Hannah, Steve and Mike came to join Benjamin. I only went downstairs to hand them some towels, as I was truly done for the night. And the next morning... They were all still there... Thanx Hannah for this round of golf! Can we do it again some time?

On Sunday we didn't really wanted to go out and drink, but we dragged (!) ourselves to the London Hotel for World Aids Day Fundraiser and had a great time with Hannah, Steve, Guy, Benjamin, Jean, Helen B, Vanessa, Juss and James. We also met up with David and the gang of Phoenix Social. We got on very well and found out that although there might be a slight age difference, we're having the same outlook on Life, The Universe and Everything! We're looking forward to meet up with them again and we have invited them all to come along to our Very Mafia Christmast Party.
