Marvellous Monday 28th of June 2010

Aloha Questarians & other interesting party people! It was a bit of a sporty happening last week; we went unlimited karting, watched England getting through to the next round, watched Holland score and experienced what it would be to be a Sunday Roast at the Twenty20 match on Sunday (and again this afternoon we were in the pub for some more orange). There are a load of events coming up this summer where you have to book in for, otherwise you might miss out and we really don't want that to happen to anyone!

On Wednesday the 7th of July (that is next week) we will be back at The London Hotel for our monthly dose of the weird and wonderful Quiz Night. Let me know by this Friday if you need feeding (£5 for a Burger with or without Cheese, Spicy Bean or Lamb Burger with salad and chips) and we'll get that organised for you. Even if you don't need feeding it might be a good idea to let me know that you are coming along, so I can look out for you and save you a seat!

Another interesting one is the Physic Supper with Ross Bartlett - member only event - hosted by Vanessa. Please let her know if you are planning on coming along and she will let you know where to find her house. The cost for this event is £25 per person and you can give your money to Vanessa this week on Thursday or to Kirsty on Thursday the 8th of July the latest.

And than there is also a Riverboat Shuffle in September and we need you to book in and pay up for that too!

There might be still tickets available for the Real Ale and Jazz Festival in Chichester on Friday the 9th of July. Get your tickets now and let us know that you are coming along. Helen M has offered floor space for all who want to stay over.

SteveSki is still looking for more people to help raise money and play some footie in the Charity 5-a-side Football Tournament on the Common on Saturday the 10th of July. Give him a shout and book yourself in!

If you are in the mood for some Ska - contact Tine and come along to the next Gig at The Brook on Saturday the 10th of July (the evening that is, so you can play football during the day).

Paul is going to Larma Tree Festival on the weekend of the 16th of July and it looks like a blast!! Book you ticket and let him know that you are coming along - he'd be happy to play host for the weekend.

You could also skyve off on Wednesday the 8th of September and come along to Thorpe Park. Ticket price includes coach travel from Southampton and back.. This also needs to be pre-booked and pre-paid..

Laura has organised Kayaking in the New Forest for us on Sunday the 15th of August. As far as I understand there are 6 of us booked in and there would be a space for possibly 2 more people. Contact Laura if you want to come along and she will forward you the booking details.

Than this week Hannah would like to know who wants to come along to the Chilli Fiesta in Chichester on Sunday the 8th of August. It looks like the hottest event of the year, so book yourself in!

Hannah would also like to know this week who's up for the Great British Experience Pedal Car Racing on Sunday the 11th of July in Ringwood (I am I am I am!!). We're planning on car share, so let her know if you are happy to drive that day (in your own car - not a pedal car).

Of course there is loads more coming up, but I haven't finished my dinner yet and it is getting cold..

So this week Vanessa is taking us to Kutis on the Pier for our First Thursday Food for Thought! With this weather I bet we'll have a few cocktails in the evening sun before and after we enjoy the Thai food served there. Please book yourself a plate with Vanessa on or before Thursday this week, so the table will fit us all!

And on Sunday we are all going to celebrate Karen's House Warming with a Wimbledon Barbecue from 3pm. Bring something to burn and something to drink and we'll have a (tennis)ball! It might be an idea to let her know that you are coming along, so she knows how much charcoal she needs to get.. And if you bring the fruit, I will bring the Pimms!

Rest me to say; Paul, thank you so much for your Barbecue Review - Original Mike would like you to sign up as soon as possible, so you can take over the writing of the Marvellous Monday when I am on holiday (mid July). Paraletic Mike; although you look very flash with your new sun glasses, it might have been a good idea if you weren't wearing them while lugging a sofa out of the pikey bin (shattering a toe is painful!). Mark J - don't work too hard and Mark S; hope you are feeling better now!

All have a great week & see you laterz!
