Marvellous, magical, meandering musings for a murky Monday Evening
Yep, you've guessed it - This is my last post before our chairman Kirsty returns from her nautical adventures, and Im gonna get some alliteration in here if it kills me (Or she does, for abusing my editorial superpowers!!).
We all enjoyed a fab weekend, which started with us going where no man (Or woman) has gone before as we buckled up for Star Trek, the prequel to the sequel of the prequel - yes I may be a little confused, but believe me it was well worth the hype. After this we headed to the London hotel for some pool, beer and a chat, trying very hard to ignore Graham Norton and the Eurovision extravaganza being blasted at us in every direction, very loudly and from multiple screens. A very warm welcome to Sarah, who ventured out to join us for the first time and very kindly wiped the floor with both myself and Ian on the green baize (Not played for ten years? A likely story!!). From there we 'frogmarched' ourselves down to the Frog and Frigate for lots of spit and sawdust and dancing on the tables, until the early hours.
Last week was a busy one, starting with the brain drain at the Bellmore Tavern quiz night. This was followed on Friday by lots of blood, sweat and tears on the Badminton court. I was aching for days!! This week, we are getting out and about to shake what our mammas gave us on Wednesday night for our Mo'Jive class. Let me know if you wanna join us. On Thursday we are trying out a new venue for club night, The Duke of Wellington in Bugle Street. There is always parking available at the Quay's swimming complex, near West Quay which is a short walk away. As always, all are welcome. If you havent met us before, dont be shy, just let us know you are coming and we'll keep an eye out for you. We dont bite.... unless we are hungry :).
I have been asked to remind everyone that Kirsty will be returning shortly from her world domination, sorry cruise and will be demanding money with menaces for the fllowing upcoming events:
Thorpe Park - Sunday 14th June (£20 pp - booking deadline Tues 26th May)
Bournemouth and Pier Theatre trip - Saturday 1st August - (£15.50 booking deadline Thursday 21st May).
She will be lurking with intent to rob you blind at this Thursday's club night, so please dust off those chq books.Ta Muchly.
Almost done.
Last but not least, Ian, dont forget to pack that thong and try not to scare the locals with it on your 'work' trip to sunny Cyprus. Sarah, enjoy your trip to sunny Oz and dont forget to look us up again on your return to Blighty.
Signing off.............
The Temp
Mike
