First Thursday Food Fun by Cuisine Queen

Hiya, all you lovers of good food and wine.

As you know, we pick an interesting restaurant for the first Thursday of every month, where we eat, drink and become merry.Laughing  One month we frequent a local curry house, the following month, something different and so on.  I'm gonna write a short blog about it every month and would love your help with this.....i.e. marks out 10 for the food, what you thought of the restaurant, the evening, and whether you had a good time........

I have a whole list of mouth-watering, tempting places in mind, but, please do let me know if there any restaurants you would like to visit.

In April, we went back an old favourite, The Tiffin Club, in Oxford Street, which specialises in gourmet curries.

"Tiffin is an Indian and British dialect word meaning a light meal eaten during the day.  This word became popular in British India, deriving from tiffing, an old English dialect or slang word for taking a little drink or sip.  In modern day India the word mostly is used for light lunches" - from the menu......

And, on our third attempt there, they finally had curried buffalo for me.  Companion diners were eating succulent dishes such as Chicken Tikka with Lemongrass and Liime and Lamb with Tamarind and Chickpeas.  Mmm Tongue out  Always good service and Miff, the owner, gave us our usual discount.

For the merry month of May, something completely different - Nepalese food at The Gurkha Kitchen.  Take a look at www.gurkha-kitchen.co.uk and see if it gets your taste-buds watering.......book through me (Vanessa) in the usual way....
