Hello and welcome to NaFoF

We're not like any random social club (in fact we don't call ourselves a social club, we're a multi-activity club and) you'd really have to come and visit us to see for yourself. Granted, we might scare you off with our enthusiasm for life, the universe and everything, but nothing ventured..

Yes, we are very aware that the name is rather grandiose, but it does reflect who we are - we are not taking ourselves too seriously (world domination will be our next step Tongue out).. What we are taking seriously is having fun and making friends with like-minded people.

Happy Year of the Dragon! Wow, did you make it to the Rockfest at The Brook last weekend? I bet you are still trying to recover! Well, you kind of have to as this week we have another stack of events for you to enjoy.

Chessington World Of Adventure

Grab the safety bar and hold on tight because we're off to Chessington to experience all the fab rides!  If your like me and don't really "do" rides Chessington's are a little more sedate in comparison to Thorpe Park/Alton Towers.  There are 9 themed lands where you will find rides including  "The Vampire", "Rameses Revenge," "Bubbleworks", and "Dragon Falls".  We will aim to get there for just after 10am when the park open's and spend all day there before coming home about 5pm. The tickets are £30 on their own website but we should be able to get them for around £20.  Please let me know you are interested in coming by the 29th February 2012 so we can organise tickets/cars etc.

Hold on to your hats people, Quiz night has returned!!

Sharon and myself are greasing up our thinking caps and charging up our braincells, ready to do battle with the quizmaster and the local eggheads. Tempers may get frayed and blood may get spilt, so we need all the help we can get!!!  

There will be lots of questions, lots of answers and lots of glory to aim for!!!! Come and join us for much head scratching, wild guesses and baffled expressions.  If all this sounds like too much hard work, then feel free to join us for a pint or two and good company!!

Marwell Wildlife

Fancy a spring day out?  Then why not join Vanessa and I at Marwell Wildlife park near Winchester.  Marwell is a conservation charity which manages and restores threatened and endangered species, so how about coming to see the amazing work they do with animals including giraffes, tigers, hippos and even meerkats!   I can't guarantee talking meerkats plugging a certain website but I am pretty sure of an interesting day out!  Entrance costs £12.72 (further donation optional) so if we can all get our own tickets,  we can then all arrange to meet at the entrance to Marwell at 10.30am.  Please let me know you are coming by Friday 9th March 2012 so we can look out for you!

Orange Wednesday's - J. Edgar

The film J. Edgar is in the cinema and we're off to watch this on Wednesday. We are aiming for the early showing of 5.30pm with our Orange Wednesday 2for1 codes. The film is directed by Clint Eastwood and tells the story of J. Edgar Hoover, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Let me know if you want to meet up earlier for a drink and maybe a bite to eat. 

Let us know if you are coming along and if you have an Organge Code too. If not going for tea, we'll see you around 5pm at the cinema!

Sunday Lunch at River Inn, Bishopstoke

How about another leisurely Sunday lunch?  This time we will be at the River Inn in Bishopstoke which is a Toby Carvey.  Lunch costs £9.49 with a choice of Gammon, or Roast Beef/Pork/Turkey.  There are a couple of other non roast mains and Veggie options if you fancy something a little different. Please let me know by Thursday 26th January 2012 if you are coming so I can book a table.

Good Evening Everybody!! We had a great week in NaFoF Land, it has flown by.. On Tuesday we (the ladies of leisure) went to Leisure World for a bite to eat and a bit of Sherlock. The food was on time this time, we even had time to get an icecream before we found our seats in the cinema. The film was fun and clever and we loved Stephen Fry as Mycroft! On Thursday we went to the pub.. Well, most of us did (I missed out, as I got distracted in the kitchen with my new all singing, all dancing, all chopping toy and realised only when Rich found a text from Paraletic Mike that we should have gone to the pub - it was after 10pm by that point). So, apologies to all and even more so to Emma, Angela and Louise (hope I got that right).
